Euro 2024 action continued Monday with Portugal battling Slovenia in the round of 16 at Frankfurt Arena in Germany.

Cristiano Ronaldo had a tough day, missing a number of shot attempts, including a penalty kick that was saved by Slovenia’s Jan Oblak in extra time. Ronaldo was emotional after the save, but got redemption in Portugal’s first try of the penalty shootout, setting the tone for a quick 3-0 victory to advance to the quarterfinals with help from goalkeeper Diogo Costa.

Ronaldo’s Portugal will now face Kylian Mbappé’s France in the quarterfinals.
