Cook-a-thon: Ex-Osun commissioner gives Ogbomoso chef N150,000

The immediate past Osun State Commissioner for Works, Mr. Oluremi Omowaiye, on Tuesday donated N150,000 to support Ogbomoso-born Chef, Tope Magi, currently working towards 200 cooking hours in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

Omowaiye said Tope Magi, who has reportedly gone past 119 hours, 57 minutes as of Tuesday evening, being the longest cooking hour record set by an Irish Chef, Alan Fisher,   should be supported to achieve his aim.

Omowaiye, in a statement obtained in Osogbo, commended the students of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, for the support given to the chef and called on Nigerians to rally support for him  to once again put Nigeria on the world map.

The statement further read in parts, “I, Oluremi Omowaiye, the immediate past Osun State Commissioner for Works, congratulate the Ogbomoso-born chef, Tope Magi, for his resilience and hardworking spirit that has made him cross over the world record of 119hours 57 minutes of the Irish chef, Alan Fisher, who currently holds the World record of the longest cooking hour.
